ADULT BIBLE CLASSES

The Old Testament Book of Jeremiah - Chapel   Leader: Jim Gibbs

Jim continues to lead the study of the books of Jeremiah. He has created an overview of the progress the class has made, which could serve as a review for those already attending the class as well as, a catch up for those joining the class. He also begins each class with a continuing study of the Augsburg Confession, helping class members understand the confession as well as giving insight into what Lutherans confess and believe. Jim is a professional teacher and does a terrific job leading the class. This class will also be offered at 11 AM.

Bible Coffee Café - FLC Coffee Café Area            Leadership is shared among individuals
The whole idea of the class revolves around the idea of sitting in a café, having a cup of coffee with your friends  and discussing current issues.  Therefore, a good selection of different coffee flavors as well as a wide variety of friends are available in the Bible Coffee area.  The class itself is lead by seven different laymen -  a different one each  week. They take the class through a current events topic and encourage good discussion about the topic. The class then proceeds as they study what God tells us in His Word concerning the topic. A printed copy of both the article to be discussed and the Scriptures to be studied are available for each participant.  Each week is a different topic so anyone can join in at any time.  It is not your typical style of Bible Study, but one that has proven to be appreciated by many.

Adult Special Needs Class - FLC 116B     Leaders: Maureen Drepaul & Sharon Gace
These exceptionally dedicated gifted teachers share the love of Jesus with the wonderful members of this class. Great love and care is given as the Jesus story is shared through words, actions, prayers and crafts.  This class is one of the great blessings God has given to Trinity.

Young Marrieds - The Pier Conference Room              Leadership is shared among the individuals.
Presently Kyle and Aliceson Lueckemeyer as well as Chris Nietubicz are the sharing the responsibility of leading the class. They are presently studying God's plan for how a man and woman are to grow together as husband and wife. The class is designed to help young marrieds grow strong as they make Christ the center of their life together. Young Marrieds refers to the age of the members within the class, not the age of the marriage. New couples are always welcome.

The Book of Proverbs - FLC 203 (also called the Christ Care Room)   Leader: Rolf Flemming
Rolf is presently leading his class in a study of the book of Proverbs. This is a good class to consider joining because each Proverb can stand alone, therefore, you can jump in at any time.  His class members are strong on individual discussions and participation. Rolf has been doing a wonderful job as a Sunday morning Bible Class leader at Trinity for 10 years and strives to create a warm comfortable environment in which to study God's word.  New members are always welcome.

Major Roadblocks That Keep Us From Growing Spiritually - FLC 204    Leader: Garry Stuhr
LIFE IS NOT EASY,
especially when our enemy Satan attempts to slow, if not seriously damage our Spiritual Growth.  He has had centuries of practice on billions of people to develop his techniques. He takes great pleasure in throwing road-blocks in the paths of Christians who are attempting to grow as a disciple. His ultimate goal is to win us away from our Savior; to cause us to lose hope and give up the will to stand firm for Christ. In the weeks to come we will identify these road-blocks, study how Satan used them in the past as well as in our own life. Then we will learn the ways God tells us in His Word to deal with them. This is a very non-threatening class. You can come in whenever you can and pick up on the topic.  It is a class where you can say nothing or a lot. Just come.

Fireproof  Your Marriage - FLC 213 A & B            Leader: Liz Brooks, Director of Trinity's ECC
As the title suggests, this class is designed to help marriages survive in the world in which we live.  This study is founded on Biblical principles for strong, God-centered, lifelong marriages.  It is based on the film "FIREPROOF."  The class will begin with viewing the film which will take most of the first two sessions. The next six weeks of study will use video clips from the film with thought provoking discussions, questions and individual and couple's devotionals.  Six week sessions include: 1) He Said/She Said, 2) He First Loved Us, 3) Love for a Lifetime, 4) Breaking Free, 5) Forgiveness, 6) A Better Way of Loving.  You may come as a couple or alone, but please consider coming.

Growing Upward . . . Together (Phil. 3:14) - FLC 213C   Leader: Pastor Erwin Metz
"Growing Upward . . . Together" explains the main purpose of this bible study led by retired pastor, Erv Metz.  This 15-week class will explore what God's absolutely true and unerring Word reveals in regard to spiritual therapy and healing. By the influence of the Holy Spirit, through careful examinations of Bible references, we will share together insights, viewpoints and suggestions that will help us learn how to "grow upward" in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ AND in relationships in the home, school, government and workplace.  For more information, contact Pastor Metz (281.251.2426). This class will also be offered at 11 AM.

Christian Parenting - Early Childhood Building (upstairs)         Leaders: Ronny and Jennifer Kiel
This class is designed to help parents be the best parents they can be. The class follows a video based series created by a family ministry/parenting professional offering insight into God's method of parenting. They will begin a new series by Dr. Tim Kimmel entitled "Grace Based Parenting."  Dr. Kimmel has many publications on parenting and has authored other series such as "Raising Kids Who Turn Out Right."  Please consider join Ronny and Jennifer for this very informative class.
